Coirex for Potting Mixes
Coir Coco Peat blocks or bales are easily rehydrated by spraying water on it. It is then placed in the mixing unit along with nutrients and/or fertilizer for even distribution. Between 20 and 100% of Coco Peat is mixed with the soil to create effective potting soil for a variety of plant applications.
Coirex for Horticulture and Gardening
Coir Coco Peat is an ideal base medium for many products with horticultural and gardening applications. It can be purchased in bulk, brick or block form and then reconstituted back to its loose form for blending with fertilizers, nutrients and soil types in a variety of configurations, each suitable for different growing conditions and needs.
Coirex for Seed Raising
Coco Peat (Coir) is an ideal environment for the germination and growth of seeds. Its high, air-filled porosity, not unlike the structure of a honey comb, and high water retention capabilities encourage the growth of strong, fibrous roots. Germination rates are increased when Coco Peat is used as compared to traditional peat moss. A blend of 50-70% of Coco Peat (Coir) can be incorporated into the seedling mix.
Coirex for Hydroponics
Hydroponics is a soil-less method of growing plants. Instead, a nutrient solution containing the necessary minerals is substituted. Plants seek the nutrients they need from the mineral nutrient solution which maybe be suspended within an inert medium such as Coco Peat. By using Coco Peat, the plants benefit from the water retaining capabilities of the soil-less medium.
Coirex for Lawn and Golf Green Construction
Golf greens and other commercial lawns are constructed with a sand base. By adding Coco Peat to the soil mix, caring for these lawns becomes a simpler matter. Fewer nutrients must be supplemented and the frequency of watering diminishes. Increased aeration allows for healthier plants. The high water retention rate slows down the evaporation rate and results in fewer waterings even in hot summer climates. It is recommended that you contact qualified Coco Peat consultants to test the mix of sand to Coco Peat prior to use to achieve the optimal water-holding levels and air-filled porosity desired.
Coirex for Mushroom Casing
Coco Peat (Coir) is making a wonderful choice for use as a mushroom casing. For increased yields, it can be used alone or as a blend combined with frozen black peat from a reliable source.
